About Me:
I am a passionate language enthusiast starting a new career path in translation. My journey began with a love for reading; books have always been my gateway to new worlds and ideas. Growing up, I spent countless hours immersed in stories from different cultures, which sparked my desire to bridge language barriers and connect with others through words.
As I have friends who ventured into writing and publishing their work, I was a "beta-reader" on a few occasions, for books in Portuguese, English and French.
Currently, I am focused on training my translation skills, primarily working with English and French texts. I believe that every word carries meaning and emotion, and my goal is to convey that essence in my translations. Although I am still in the early stages of my career, I am dedicated to learning and improving my craft through online courses, workshops, and practice.
In my free time, you can find me curled up with a good book, whether it’s a classic novel, contemporary fiction, biography or other non-fiction exploring various cultures and histories.
Education:
I hold a bachelor and master's degree in law, where I developed a solid foundation in language structure, syntax, and semantics. My academic background has greatly enriched my understanding of translation nuances and the importance of cultural context.
Goals:
As I continue my journey as a translator, I aspire to specialize in editorial translation - thus combining my passion for reading and a job that motivate me. I’m excited to collaborate with authors and publishers to ensure that their work resonates in every language.
