Hello,
I'm a native German with a vocational degree in banking and an university degree in Business, Languages and Cultural Studies. In terms of languages, I have studied English, French and Italian - translation was a part of those classes as well. But to round my profile out, I'm taking the final exam of the CIoL's Diploma In Translation in January as well.
I've spent a few years in London where I translated the odd sheet of paper that crossed my desk (well, ok, it was part of my jobs, but nothing too exciting) but I mainly worked in a very well known psychiatric hospital and after that I was Deputy Editor for the largest Private Equity trade press in the UK and Ireland.
And that's what I started doing freelance a couple of years ago. In 2014, I officially began adding translation to my offering.
I absolutely love books, playing and working with words until I get a text as right as I possibly can (after all, language is a living thing and not exact science) is just the best job in the world. Finding the right level, the right tone, the perfect expression is my thing. I'm also the right kind of fussy.
Ok, this is it for now.
Have a lovely day!
