I've always loved reading. The escape that it offers when there is no one to talk to around but the characters are understanding you, going through the same situation as you is an inexplicable journey.
My mother tongue is French but I have lived in London for 2 years and in the US 2 more years after that.
To this day, I like to read the same book in both languages, usually the original language first and then the translation. It is always intriguing to read how an emotion, a sentiment is described in different languages whether I agree or not.
The reason why I have decided to start translating novels professionnaly is because I am already a freelance translator for companies and agencies and I thought I would take on a chance to translate novels.
