At present based out of Milan, Italy, moved 12 houses and lived in 8 countries in the last 20 years. Still working with a global company at group CXO level as support staff : this gave me a chance to experience multicultural team working across our diverse organization.
I am now 56, slowing down with travelling and crazy working hours and carving out some quality time for the things I like. Reading is one of those. Translations also would.
What I think :
I think we need less social media overload and more reading in our lives.
The business environment where I have been moving for the last 20 years is an extremely rarified and sophisticated one : I need to balance the equation with totally different semantic areas, to get new spurs, explore new worlds, learn new things.
I used to do some freelance work as an editor and translator when I was younger as to to roll out my student's income, translated several texts (short stories, scripts, essays, even operating manuals). I used to like it very much.
I'd indeed write poems or stories if only everything I can possibly think and feel hadn't already been narrated, dissected, chronicled and put onto paper in infinite variables thousands of times in the last 25 centuries way better than I could ever do. I am a reader.
I am on point about openness, clarity, punctuality, flexibility and efficiency. In due course I also learnt about patience and dedication.
Bottomline, I walk hand in hand with passion and fun in everything I do with my time.
