Hello everyone! I'm Lucie. I'm a freelance translator and I translate from English and Spanish to French.
I hold two Bachelor's degree, one in English literature and civilisation, the other in French literature, and a Master's degree in Literary translation.
I graduated in 2014 and I've worked on various projects since. I've subtitled in English two promising French short film, and I've translated into English the scenario of a gripping French independent film. It was a real pleasure to work on these tasks, but what I loved the most was to translate a short story by Debbie Macomber, "Lost and Found in Cedar Cove" -prequel to her novel "Rose Harbor in Bloom", which I very much enjoyed- for the French publishing house Charleston.
I love reading and I always wanted to work in the literary world. My favourite authors are Laura Kasischke (I chose to translate two of her short stories from her collection "If A Stranger Approaches You" for my Master's degree final report, and it was thruly enthralling), Jane Austen, Nancy Huston, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Arnaldur Indriðason, Auður Ava Ólafsdóttir (I am fascinated by Iceland), Guadalupe Nettel, Emile Zola, Marguerite Duras... Among many others.
I love my job and I hope to do it for a very, very long time. I particularly like the idea of helping the French public discover a work that I've loved!
