Luana Silighini (author)

Luana Silighini is a professional Italian journalist, videoreporter and author working since 1999. She graduated in Communication Sciences from La Sapienza University of Rome, with postgraduate master degrees in Radio and TV Languages and in Multimedia Journalism. Award-winning radio voice, she won national radio voice contests including the one organized by Mario Morcellini at La Sapienza University of Rome. She taught for ten years at the La Sapienza/Einaudi Master in Journalism. For ANSA, Italy’s national news agency, she has produced thousands of videos and photo reports covering foreign affairs, geopolitics, news and culture in Rome. She has also worked as a reporter for Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, La Stampa and Radio Rai. Her reporting focuses on international politics, war, migration and human rights. Luana Silighini is the author of two books on migration and the Syrian crisis, based on direct field interviews with Syrian refugees and survivors.
