Louisa Reynolds is a British-Mexican freelance journalist and translator based in Mexico City. She has a first class degree in Modern Languages from University College London (UCL) and an MA in Latin American Studies from the Institute for the Study of the Americas. Reynolds speaks Spanish, French and Italian. She is a member of the Guatemalan Association of Translators and Interpreters (AGIT), which is affiliated to the Fédération Internationale de Traducteurs (FIT). Reynolds’ varied portfolio includes literary translations, biographies, academic works and commercial reports. The books she has translated include the novel Our Days of Freedom (Spanish-English), by Anaís de la Roca; two sociology textbooks: Enduring Violence. The Lives of Ladina Women in Guatemala (English-Spanish) by Cecilia Menjívar, and Organizing Strangers. Poor Families in Guatemala City (English-Spanish), by Bryan Roberts; and the biography Father Rocco’s Legacy of Love by Mayra Vargas (Spanish-English). Reynolds has worked for Babel International Translators, the premier Mexico City-based Anglo-Mexican translation agency as well as Skopos Translators, and is currently employed as a legal translator by Ramírez, Gutiérrez-Azpe, Rodríguez-Rivero y Hurtado S.C., a top international law firm based in Mexico City.
