Hello everyone, I'm Leeloo, 22 years old and currently a student in third and last year of a degree in Applied Foreign Languages. During this degree, I have mainly studied English and Spanish even though I also had classes in Mandarin Chinese and Breton. I’ve also taken classes in marketing, management, economics, law, and civilization.
I have been studying English for 13 years and Spanish for 8. I have a low C2 level in English according to the EF Standard English Test and a C1 level in Spanish according to the Online Linguistic Support Test.
I started doing translation within the scope of my first year of college. Back then I only translated texts in English and Spanish to French. I also had classes in translation studies.
Then for my second year, I got the opportunity to go two semesters on Erasmus in Andalusia, Spain, at the end of which I passed the OLS test. During my stay, I studied literary translation and specific translation (principally articles, songs, recipes...) from French to Spanish. My literary translation classes mainly focused on Queneau (and his stylistic exercises), Amélie Nothomb, Philippe Delerme, and Michel Tournier.
Finally, during my first semester of the third year, I got to translate texts from French to English in addition to the classes I already had in the first year. I am currently spending my second semester (March to June of 2021) on an internship in Greece with a freelance translator. Some of my missions include translation, proofreading and improving machine translation (Appen).
