I am strucural engineer living in Chicago, IL, USA. I have written three novels, about a group of 15 people called "The Third Thaws". They are called "Thaws", because they were sent as frozen embryos to a planet 23 light years from Earth and were "birthed" and raised by robots.
The story begins with the Thaws learning, on their 16th birthday, that the people raising them are actually robots. On that day, they discover they were conceived on a distant planet called "Earth". They live in an American settlement called "New Eden". There is another similar settlement, established by the Germans, called "New Munich", located 1067 miles away from New Eden.
When the Third Thaws reach the age of 21, they travel on an epic journey to meet with their German counterparts. Together, the American and German communities are given the challenge of re-creating human civilization on this planet.
Not typical science fiction, but more of an adventure with science. The science and technology described is realistic, showing how much effort would be required to re-create civilization.
Book 1, titled "The Third Thaw", came out in August 2018. The book has received excellent reviews from readers who are scientifically inclined (please read the reviews on GoodReads). Book 2, titled "Before The Thaw", came out December 2019. Book 3 is currently with my editor and should come out summer 2021.
The books have been published by Wido Publishing. I have a contract with Wido that allows me to publish this book in other languages. Book 1 has been translated into Spanish. Book 2 is currently being translated into Spanish.
This story has worldwide appeal, but should particularly appeal to the German speaking population. The American and German colonies of this story struggle to survive as comrades. That said, I think Germans would be particularly interested in this story.
I speak "ein bischen Deutsch". Looking for a native German translator who appreciates the subtlies of novel writing.
