Hello, I am a freelance translator. I was born in the United States, but have lived a total of 10 years in Argentina during different parts of my life. I grew up reading, writing, and speaking both English and Spanish, and then as an adult I also became fluent in Portuguese. Before becoming a translator I taught English for three years.
I started off translating religious material for various churches and missionaries. I currently translate a few columns for bilingual newspapers. I'm also a theology professor, where I have to translate books and essays for my students quite often.
I believe that bridging the gaps between cultures is an important and necessary task for our world. Accessing a different culture broadens our scope of humanity and creates connections where today so many focus on divisions.
I have a deep understanding of colloquialisms in the different dialects of Spanish, English, and Portuguese. I can adapt the translation depending on the target demographic.
