It is fair to say that I started translating comics and manga in scanlations (by fans, for fans). I never imagined that I could possibly fall in love with translation, or even take it seriously as a profession. Although my B.A. is in linguistics and English teaching, I have participated in various translation projects. The first translation project was a webcomic, translated and published by the author. Next project was a webcomic again. Later on I participated in the translation of the book "Flying over South America" by Annie Peck. Other projects include subtitling a documentary.

I am in love with the profession, and every project in which I participated, the compromise with my job was evident.

Regarding my preparation, I participated in investigations related to translating, took various courses, not to mention that my Thesis was completely in English, which means that I received previous preparation on English writing (academic and literary).

I learned English through reading classics in it. These were grade books, that later I re-read in the original format. I love reading, I love editing, proofreading was one of my specialities during scanlation and translating the book mentioned above. Since I can remember, I have loved literature, and I am pretty familiarized with literature in the languages that I speak.

Author review:
The translation itself was good enough, but our template, complete with [we thought] clear and simple formatting instructions, seems to have been completely ignored, causing us quite a bit of extra work on the back end. A well translated but poorly formatted document still makes for a very bad eBook, something translators should pay more attention to. It's why we provide the template.
