I have worked in the topsegment of Dutch publishing since 1985. First as an editor and then, since 2002, also as a translator English-Dutch.
In this period I worked on many many books, and with many authors. My specialty is fiction - I love working on a good story, both literary and not so literary, but I also translated and edited many general non-fiction titles. I have broad interests, a strong esthetic and critical sense, and I am praised for my fair intuitive judgment.
I feel it is my task both as an editor and translator to bring out the best in the manuscript, translation at hand, with respect to the author of course. Authors, so I have heard, like working with me because of my commitment to them and the book, and last but not least, because I am fun to work with.
Since March 2014 I am fully self employed and I am happy to be of service!
