My experience with cutural exchange has allowed me to know and fall in love with several languages deeply. Live in a rural area of Colombia and later in the capital, Bogotá, allowed me to realize the importance of mastering several speech registers in my own language and the cultural influence that is expressed in dialects and different languages. I estudied anthropology, a social science whose fundamental work is writing about cultures, and later I moved to Brazil, where I learned Portuguese and lived with the deep Brazilian culture, at the same time that I did a Master in History.
In literary matters, that cultural influences and my interest in discovering and interpreting them has allowed me to publish in Spanish and Portuguese some of my stories and poems. I am currently working on my first novel. My biggest translation work was expressing a gigantic archive of oral literature and music of the Colombian Caribbean, of a lyricism and an impressive local customs, in the Brazilian language, for which I decided to make a cultural paragon and for stylistic reasons I decided to translate them into a Portuguese of the Northeast of Brazil, which would automatically locate the reader tha dosen't know much about Colombia in the periphery of the country.
I consider myself highly responsible and qualified for literary and academic translations, an area in which I have excelled deeply, both in my undergraduate and graduate programs.
Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, French and English, all with their cultural nuances. If you want a translation that is sensitive to what the language can transmit in its local contexts, I consider that I am the one.
