Author review: It has been a pleasure working with Israel on the translation of my first Babelcube book in Spanish. I speak quite a bit of Spanish myself (not enough to translate, but enough to read), and I also had the manuscript looked over by a fluent friend. We found it very well done. I feel my voice was preserved, and the story flows very smooth and natural in the translated version. Israel's work was done quickly and professionally, and his English is great - so he's easy to communicate with. He understood the jokes in my book that wouldn't translate literally. He made it his responsibility to find the best way to keep the humor in these cases. He also helped when I was unsure of what the new title should be. Very accommodating and friendly. I hope to have the chance to work with Israel again. He did a fantastic job! |
