I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, of Portuguese parents.
Graduated in English and German Language and Literature, from Lisbon University.
Have a Master's degree in English Studies, with a thesis on Jane Austen.
Attended the first part of a Master's degree in Business Communication, Marketing & Public Relations, from European University in Lisbon.
Have a Master's Degree in Research in Social Sciencs from the Pontifical University of Salamanca (Spain)
I was a university teacher from 1989 to 2014 - teaching the areas of Literature, Culture, English language, Business Communication, Public Relations.
I have translated fiction and non-fiction (especially papers for publication in journals, mostly peer-reviewed, in the areas of Social Sciences).

* Landscapes, Identities and Development, edited by Zoran Roca, Paul Claval & John Agnew, published by Ashgate, 2011
- have translated comic books, books for children and young readers, from English, Italian and Spanish into Portuguese since 1985
- translated Insultos, Cortes e Impertinencias (in Portuguese: Insultos, Reprimendas e Impertinências. como fazê-lo) by Angel Palomino, published by Editora Temas da Actualidade in 1995
- translated the work in three volumes A History of the Crusades (in Portuguese: História das Cruzadas) by Steven Runciman, published by Livros Horizonte (in collaboration with Margarida Morgado), in 1993
- translated into English the work À Face, A Face Oculta dos Painéis de Setúbal, by Ana Maria Franco de Lemos in 1993
- edited the work Aprenda Inglês Sem Mestre, published by Editorial Presença (in collaboration with Margarida Morgado) in 1987;
- translated into English the first catalogue of Persian Ceramics of Calouste Gulbenkian’s private collecion, for the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon, in 1997.
