My name is Iléana Faedi.
As regards my profile, I am perfectly bilingual, French and English being my mother tongue languages. Indeed, my mother is Welsh and my father is French. I was also brought up as much within a British atmosphere as an American one, having spent part of my childhood with American friends. Presently, I am 24 years old and qualified up to a Master’s Degree level in translation from Paris Diderot University.
I am absolutely passionate about literature. From the Brontë sisters to C.J. Sansom in English, from Émile Zola to Tatiana de Rosnay in French, I have always loved reading, and this from a very young age. I am also fascinated by cinema, from the first moving pictures of the Lumières brothers to Sam Mendes's 1917 First World Drama, and more particularly scriptwriting. Indeed, I recently obtained a professional training course certificate for the scriptwriting profession from an online French cinema school called “Cinécours”.
Concerning my professional experience, I have been an animator in France and in the United Kingdom, teaching children the French and English language in a playful way, as well as a translator. Indeed, I worked with a freelancer in Leamington Spa (UK) as part of an internship in 2017 and then as a part-time translator in the TEXA insurance company in Paris in 2019. Moreover, I chose a Master's Degree in which I was able to discover a wide range of translation domains.
Two years ago, I launched my translation business as a freelancer while working as a part-time Lego animator in Parisian bilingual schools during 2020, and as an online French teacher to Chinese children during 2021. The unprecedented situation we are currently experiencing has encouraged me to try out Babelcube for my own personal pleasure. I would therefore be more than delighted to work with authors on English books which need to be translated into French.
I hope to hear from you soon! :)
