I currently live in Turin, Italy.
2013: bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpretation Studies at the University Of Perugia, Italy (for the languages: Italian, English and Spanish). While studying at university I had the chance to work as interpreter in various occasions, such as business meetings, international expos, guided tours for turists.
I then moved to London in 2013, where I had the possibility to improve my English level and to develop both personally and professionaly. In London I have been working as freelance interpreter and translator and I worked for a Certified Translation Agency which provides certified translations of official documents and certificates.
I came back to Italy at the end of the year 2015 and I moved to Turin.
In April 2018 I completed a Master Degree course in Specialised Tranlsation (English and Spanish) at the Univeristy of Turin. The course aims at providing students with theoritacl al practical notions, mostly related to audiovisual translation (dubbing, subtitling, revoicing), theatrical translation and specialised translation, with a focus on technologies to support translation.
My dissertetion thesis is an analysis of the auxiliary selection in intransitive verbs in Italian. The applied methodology consists in comparing the linguistic theory with the data extracted from two different annotated corpora: UD-IT and PoSTWITA-UD. The analyzed verbs have been classified in different semantic categories depending on the linguistic theory. The results confirm the theoretical assumptions and they could be considered as a starting point for many applicative tasks as Natural Language Generation.
I love languages and reading. I am particularly interested in sientific translation, literal translation and audiovisual translation.
