As well as my translation qualifications and experience, I am an author myself, writing young adult urban fantasy and literary-style science fiction. I read widely in science fiction and fantasy.

• Bachelor of Arts (double major in German and French) and Postgraduate Diploma in Translation Studies, both from the University of Auckland, New Zealand
• Lived 7 years in Germany and became completely fluent, also reading books in German
• 6 years as translator for the police in Germany
• Since 2006: professional translator for all types of business and personal documents, with several different agencies. Phone references available within Germany on request.
• I translate meaning, not just words, for a more beautiful and flowing result. I use various dictionaries and thesaurus sites to find just the right words.
• Two science fiction novels published in 2010 and 2015
• Ongoing Young Adult Fantasy series which began in 2017
