Freelance Translator: I believe translation is a form of love, and I try to make it as effective as possible.

I was born in Florence, Italy, 26 years ago. The first time I moved out from my house I was ten. The last was some months ago. I lived in London when I was too young and naive to really understand what to live in London meant (and I totally loved it), then I decided my crazy days were over and I started my University studies back in Italy.

To my great delight, I got accepted in the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Interpreting and Translation in Forlì (a branch of University of Bologna), where I spent the next five years crying over obscure Russian grammar books and hostile English technical translations. Eventually I ended up appreciating myself and the results I had achieved and grow up professionally and personally. Thanks to the erasmus program, I was offered the possibility of going back to England once more for six months, which I gladly did, as England was my first real adventure and I will never forget how proud of myself I was being able to organize my life there. I also decided to boost up my poor Russian and spend some time in amazing Moscow, an experience that changed completely my perception of Russia and its inhabitants (for the best). Thanks to such an experience, I managed to accomplish my dream and translate the first part of a book for my dissertation.I choose Географ глобус пропыл  (The geographer drank his globe away) from Russian author Aleksej Ivanov. It took me 8 months of super intense work to accomplish such a mission, it was definetly not easy and I am sure that there is still a lot to revise there, but I can say that I am fully proud of it. 

I graduated in specialised translation not so long ago, and now I am currently looking for new experiencies and job opportunities in order to improve my abilities. Well, we all have to start somewhere, isn'it? I intend to work especially in the literary area, even though I am perfectly aware of how hard it is to became a professional translator, especially in such sector. Nevertheless, I'll give it a try. Meanwhile I took up teaching and I am about to enroll in a course that will reveal to me all the secrets related to publishing industry.
