Quiero experimentar con traducciones de textos de ficción y mejorar en el camino. / I want to experiment in translating fiction and to imporve while I do it.

Empecé a traducir en cursos en la Universidad Austral de Chile, recibiendo buenas calificaciones y comentarios de parte de los profesores a cargo de ellos.

Me gusta traducir. Cada texto en los cuales he trabajado ha sido un pequeño rompecabezas que me ha encantado armar. Los textos con los que he trabajado han sido recetas y abstracts de textos académicos; sin embargo, me quiero apartan de ellos y traducir libros de ficción o fantasía, ya que son más libres en cuanto a estructura se refieren.

Adicionalmente, también me gusta mucho escribir. He escrito un libro (que se está editando aún) y ahora estoy escribiendo otro. Me encanta la ficción y cómo un universo (y sus personajes junto a sus desarrollos como tales) puede ser creado en un par de páginas.

Asímismo, creo que mis habilidades para escribir y mis aptitudes incipientes en la traducción pueden ser la mezcla perfecta para traducir cualquier cuento, o fragmento de uno; mis dos pasiones complementandose a sí mismas en una tarea que me encanta realizar.

I started translating in translation courses at my alma mater (Universidad Austral de Chile/Austral University of Chile) while receiving good grades and feedback from the teachers in charge of them.

I like translating. Every text that I have translated before has been a small puzzle that I have loved to decifer. Those texts have been recipees and academic abstracts; however, I want to start doing something else and to start translating fiction, due to the fact that they are more free in terms of structure.

Additionally, I also love creative writing. I have written one book (which is currently being peer edited) and currently I am writing a second one. I love fiction and how a universe (and its characters along with their development) can be created in just a couple a pages.

All things considered, I think that my creative writing abilities and my incipient translation skills can be the perfect mixture in order to translate any type of story, or a fragment of one; my two passions in life complementing one another in a task that I love to carry out.
