Born and raised in France, I was fortunate enough to have parents who were both English teachers and book lovers, so I grew up familiar with the English language and literature from the start.
I then developed a passion for foreign languages and cultures in general, which led me to study History, Classics, French Lit, Applied Languages and Translation. I thus gained a BA in History, two Master’s Degrees – one in Classics & French Lit, and the other in Applied Languages – as well as a Diploma in Translation (DipTrans) from the Chartered Institute of Linguists. I also spent a (delightful) year in the UK when I was a student.
I have always wanted to become a literary translator, but since no opportunity materialized when I started my career, I first settled for positions in Education and IT. This had a silver lining, since it allowed me to work with English-speaking, UK- and US-based global companies, which nicely complemented my academic background and helped me fully assimilate the British and US cultures.
Today, my passion for translation is intact, if not stronger than ever, so the time has come for me to join Babelcube and put my skills, experience and enthusiasm to good use: I am looking forward to fulfilling my childhood dream, while bringing your books to the French-speaking audience!
