I was born in Kiev, Ukraine and have lived and studied in several countries. I have an MA in English and Russian from Stockholm University and a PhD in Psychology from University of Turku. I also completed a 1,5 year long course in community interpreting at Stockholm University.
The last 15 years I have spent in Sweden where I have worked as a teacher, translator and interpreter from Swedish into Russian/Ukrainian and vice versa. In the framework of my work I have conducted writing and intercultural communication workshops for international students. I have also published five articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
As a teenager I wrote and translated poetry and songs in my native language, Russian. However, in my adult life I predominantly wrote and translated non-fiction. My own choice of books for reading would include poetry, Russian literature classics, science fiction and detective stories. I also enjoy reading book and film reviews written by respected critics or well-informed amateurs.
I have some spare time that I would like to devote to translating books. Since Swedish is not my mother tongue, I would like to collaborate with other translators from Sweden who could proofread my work.
Looking forward to finding and translating future bestsellers or simply great books worth reading.
