My name is Dr Etienne Chapelle. I graduated PhD in Medicine in 1980 in French Brussel (Belgium). I specialized in sport medicine in 1989. Emigrated to South-Africa in 1993, where I live since then. I built and managed the first indoor climbing gym of South-Africa during 10 years. I also operated 13 mobile climbing walls for 12 companies, during that period. I then worked then for the hotel industry until the economic crisis of 2008. I started to translate from English to French and vice versa, in 2000, mainly medical articles (Jama, Eurotexte, and British Medical Journal). I became the exclusive French translator of two of the biggest pharmaceutical companies of South-Africa, which I am still. Progressively, I started to translate mining contracts, business documents (Articles of Association, Minutes of Assemblies, recruitment contracts…), legal documents (certificates, marriage contracts, police clearances…), technical documents (maintenance and operation manuals) and many others, to finish by books, mainly technical. During my 21 years career as a translator, I translated for hundreds and hundreds of companies. Today, my field of translation includes:
