Freelance translator, working remotely for the OUP (Oxford University Press) in a major project of a bilingual dictionary (Oxford Portuguese Dictionary) containing more than 70.000 headwords and 140.000 example sentences and idioms addressed to the Brazilian and Portuguese markets. Main duties included translation of entries and example sentences from English to Portuguese using OUP specific editing tool, translation and revision of cultural notes and quality control of translations done. The project lasted 2 years and the dictionary was published in 2015. The project was headed by an English speaker coordinator which required very good English language communication and written skills.
Larousse Publishing
Freelance translator, working remotely for three years in major dictionary projects for the Latin American Division of Larousse located in Scotland. The project included the creation and development of illustrated, student and mini editions of English-Portuguese bilingual dictionaries addressed to the Brazilian market (Larousse/Ática Illustrated English-Portuguese Dictionary, Larousse/Ática Spanish-Portuguese Dictionary, Yes Larousse/Ática Mini Dictionary and Oui Larousse/Ática French-Portuguese Mini Dictionary). Main duties included the task of training a team of translators in the use of Larousse special editing tool, managing deadlines, translation of dictionary entries into Portuguese and revision/proof reading of translations done.
