I started my early career as a young mathematician in academia. After graduating from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences, I moved in the UK, completed a masters degree in Financial Mathematics and moved on to research the mathematical modelling of interconnected systems under a Marie-Curie fellowship. At the end of that journey, I turned towards the mathematics education world. I worked for an international mathematics education provider, Kumon, a company of Japanese origin, where I had excellent opportunities to travel the globe and work with people from different countries and cultures. It was in this role that I found my passion for languages and realised the power a translator holds in making or breaking the language barriers. Alongside other duties, I completed several translation projects from English to Greek. In the past couple years, I have moved on to gaining experience of the classroom mathematics world and I am currently the Head of Mathematics of an independent school in Hertfordshire. Alongside, I work as a registered translator. My main interests are in STEM related publications, mathematics education and languages.
