I am from Brazil. I have always been interested in literature and languages. That is one of the reasons I chose my career. I have a Teaching Degree in Languages (Brazilian Portuguese and English) and a Specialization Degree in English - Dissertation on Translation of Children´s Books. I have worked as a Portuguese and an English teacher for many years. Then I decided to work as a secretary at an enginneering firm for 20 years. I enjoyed it but I missed working with languages. With the pandemic I lost my job, which was a shame but, somehow, it gave me the opportunity to get back to my first career. I have been taking lots of courses on translation and proofreading and I have also been working as a volunteer translator and proofreader to Climate Science, a UK-based global charity, and to Bilingual Picture Books, a charitable organization.

Author review: Edith Neves Mendel Freccia did a fantastic job translating my book, My Road Goes Ever On—Spiritual Being, Human Journey. She was careful to match the meaning with the translation and even added notes to explain any references that might be confusing to the readers. She formatted the book well and kept true to the design. She was easy to communicate with and even wrote very kind comments about her impressions of the book, which I was able to use as publicity. If I could give her ten stars I would gladly. |
