Let the Magic Begin!

I am a linguist who has been teaching foreign languages for over 10 years now (mainly English and French). I am Canadian and I was lucky enough to be brought up as a bilingual child (French AND English), which means I can translate this language pair both ways easily.

I am a published author of science-fiction and fantasy which means whenever I have free time, I like to write and explore strange worlds. As of now, I have translated three books English-French and like the challenge it represents. I have completed a 2-year formal training in translation at the University of Toronto.

I love travelling and languages. I have strong language abilities in Spanish (my undergrad major) and Chinese Mandarin as well since I lived in China for nearly 6 years. Although learning languages is challenging, it gives me a different perspective on language use and cultural differences which are crucial elements when it comes to translation. I also have a wide range of interests and I see every translation as an opportunity to learn something new.

I am an avid reader and read pretty much anything and also in different languages. I find it's the perfect way to keep those languages alive. Plus, I get to dive into a different world at the same time!
