Let me tell you about my life without being too boring, opened to answer any questions.
Many thanks and I really hope that you will find this somewhat helpful.
Regarding the book first.
It has been recently published through a hybrid publisher a month ago. I haven't fully launched it as I am just waiting for the audiobook to be available which should be in the next few days. The publisher will do all the PR and marketing work and due to how current is the topic of the book, I believe that it will do very well. Will be the same for foreign markets I am sure.
Regarding me:
I am a discoverer, an explorer of life. Through unconventional means, I have become a philosopher of sorts and have overhauled my own life, and can guide, and direct you on how to drastically improve yours.
From an early age, my father, a professional coach and sociologist, taught me some things that others were not taught. He studied human and social sciences academically, and taught me how to observe and study human behaviour, through his stories and our experiences together. Growing up, we spent hours debating and discussing life, and what it means to be human, and what it means to be happy, and what it means to be free.
My household placed a premium on success and personal development, and I was lucky to have my own, unofficial life coach from the time I was born.
As a teenager, I was passionate about sports. I started coaching as a traditional sports coach, coaching football and swimming. As a coach, I learnt ways to teach and help people beyond the sport. For example, I was able to help many people overcome anxiety with water, which brought me great joy.
As a young adult, I spent a decade travelling, learning, exploring, and most importantly studying life as a human. During this time I spent a year and a half working in Disneyland Paris meeting people from all over the world. And then, I took a leap of faith, moving to the UK without speaking a word of English. Within a few months of dedicated study, and practising with locals, I was able to speak enough English to become a ski and snowboard instructor.
Again, I discovered through extreme sports that coaching was not only about the sport, but showing people how to conquer their fears, by challenging their ideas and perceptions of their abilities, I was able to banish their doubts and build their confidence.
Continuing on my travels, I became a member of the British Airways cabin crew. My observations of human behavioural patterns on board allowed me to fine tune my general understanding. I could see how people acted in relation to contentment and success, fulfilment and satisfaction.
My experience showed me how to facilitate satisfaction and happiness in people; showing them the way to create this in themselves.
Having always displayed a natural affinity for challenging friends and colleague’s behaviours and beliefs - and spending literally thousands of hours coaching and advising them - ‘Why aren't you a life-coach?’ became so frequent a question, that I could no longer deny my true calling: to inspire and encourage others to realise their full potential.
To me this is the true nature of life coaching: acting as a catalyst for change, no questions, and no excuses.
Many thanks and I hope to hear from you soon.
Warmest regards
Damien
