Chiara Babeli (translator)

I'm Chiara Babeli, I'm 33 years old and I wanted to work with books since I was a child. 

I'm graduated in literature and contemporary history. I spent seven months in Sweden as an Erasmus student and five months in Australia, where I worked in Sydney at the Italian Institute of culture and where I made my first experiences in translation. After that I attended an editorial translation course in Bologna where I met some important translators in Italy and where I practised and learnt with them how to translate different kind of texts, fiction and essays, and how to revise and correct drafts. I also wrote some short stories for an online foundation.

Now I'm working in a secondary school as a tutor and as a guide in Fossoli concentration camp and at the deportee memorial museum in Carpi. I'm an expert in the history of the twentieth century, especially of the second world war period, and I'm making researches about that period in my village in cooperation with the Montefiorino museum of Resistance.
