Born in Cape Town, South Africa I immigrated to the United States in 2000. In Cape Town I lectured Linguistics & Communication Studies for 20 years at The University Western Cape. As the University Western Cape is a bilingual university (English and Afrikaans) it meant translating thousands of academic texts as well as offering lectures in both languages.
I lived briefly in Amsterdam, The Netherlands while studying Computational Linguistics at the Vrije University.
In the United States I work as a freelance translator and have worked on translation and voice-over projects for companies such as American Express, Chanel, PayPal, Peugeot, Lays Chips, MoneySend PayPal, American Express, Heinz Foods, Cargill, SFB Tractor, Common Space Language, Kiev Language Services and Goethe-Verlag Online Language Learning.
I have a great love for the theater, films and filmmaking and am also an independent film producer in Austin Texas. My film productions include “Z, The Zombie Musical".
