Hello everyone !
I am a French freelance translator and I am looking for new projects. This is why I came on this website. I love reading, and I would like to become a literary translation. I also like to travel and I have experience in the field of tourism.
During the last year of my Master degree, we had a class on the translation of imaginary literature: science fiction and fantasy books. I found it very interesting and at that moment I realized that this was what I wanted to do. However it was quite difficult too. But I love fantasy and science fiction books and I really would like to have a chance to translate at least one of these books.
To validate my Master degree, I wrote a translation memoir about the translation of a fairy tale, which was an adaptation of "The twelve dancing princesses" that was named "Below the Sun Beneath", by Tanith Lee. It was a part of an anthology of fairy tales called Once Upon A Time: New Fairy Tales.
I also love detective novels, but I never had the opportunity to translate one. If the opportunity comes, I think I am going to take it.
I also love to travel, I went to India for 6 months for an internship, where I translated the touristic website Incredible India. It was an amazing experience, that I will never forget. I had the oppportunity to learn about a different culture and religion, and it was amazing ! If I have the opportunity to translate books about tourism or about India, or even books written by an Indian author, I would love to do it.
