I was born in Sicily surrounded by literature and passion for arts. ever since I can remember I have always loved languages and their ways of shaping the world, putting people from every continent in contact with one another. And that is where exactly I realised I wanted to be that helpful tool for people from different places relate to what someone else from another part of the world was saying. I started my translation studies journey back in Italy, in Pisa, which was already steemed with international students and communities. There, I studied the basics fo translation studies, falling in love with every aspect of this field and getting excited in dealing with remarkable topics such as legal or medical documents. However, I always felt like there was a small part missing. When I attended an Erasmus semester abroad in Belgium, in Mons specifically, where I started approaching the world of subtitles and the excitement from translating a movie or a short film. My life was dotted with challenging work experiences and job potions that shaped and enticed, even more, this interest and great passion towards languages and their methods of getting into people's life. I always worked in the translation field, from the very first Project Manager position, where I just needed to monitor and follow the translation projects dealing with partners, to my more relevant position as a Localisation creator and Linguist. I believe that translation is the real way to get to people's heart and mind and nothing do this more than books themselves. Imagining to help people, letting them understand what to feel in their own language and relate to the very same emotions any author felt while writing a story in his own language is a great treasure. And I am totally on board with this.
