My name is Bruno Cercal. My native language is Brazilian Portuguese and I have spoken English since I was 9 years old. In college, I started studying French and Spanish, too, which I now speak at an intermediate-advanced level. I am currently almost finished with my International Relations major at the University of Sao Paulo: one semester and a half to go! It is Brazil's leading course in this area, according to Ranking Universitário Folha.
I have worked as an intern at the Cultural Sector of the U.S. Consulate in São Paulo for 1 year and a half. After that, I was hired by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) to work as Oliver Stuenkel's assistant at the Center for International Relations. In both positions, translating texts, academic articles, essays, diplomatic discourses, grants and other kinds of documents was a key aspect of my job.
I am also a writer myself, by the way. I have just started writing about politics, development, culture and sexuality for Huffington Post Brazil.
Cheers!
