Augustine Sam is mainly recognized as a journalist. He is also a bilingual writer and an award-winning poet. He is a member of the U.K. Chartered Institute of Journalists, and was formerly Special Desk editor at THISDAY newspaper, an authoritative Third World daily, first published in collaboration with the Financial Times of London. He later became correspondent for Central Europe.
He was the winner of the "Editors' Choice Award" in the North America Open Poetry contest, sponsored by the National Library of Poetry, and was invited to be inducted into the International Society of Poets. He won the Merit Award from this society, as well as having two of his poems published in international anthologies. "Heartbeats" was published in a collection called Measures of the Heart. His award-winning poem: "Anguish & Passion" was published in the Sounds of Silence anthology.
Augustine's debut novel, Take Back the Memory, received a Readers' Favorite 5-star seal. His poetry collection, Flashes of Emotion, was the 2015 finalist in the International Book Award contest. He is also the author of the mystery/thriller novel, The Conspiracy of Silence. His latest work, Annabella, a stirring literary thriller, is expected to be released before the end of the year.
