My name is Andrea Sarchielli, I am 32 and I have been living in Lincoln, UK, for 5 years. I moved abroad from Italy after I graduated in Languages, Literature and International Studies with a score of 110/110.
During my academic career, I took English as my major subject and studied Swedish, German and Finnish as well. Thanks to my strong language skills, I got to work as an assistant teacher in English and Swedish as part of an internship programme sponsored by the University of Florence on two different occasions. I can also offer an excellent competence in Italian, thanks to which I won two literary prizes during my school years.
Over the last seven years I worked in video game localisation as a backup Lead Italian Translator and QA Localisation Tester. This experience helped me develop and improve my translation skills, as well as my proficiency with CAT Tools (SDL Trados, MemoQ and others).
I am passionate about languages, translation, and I love reading. I am always looking for new challenges and I like the concept behind Babelcube. I am dedicated, thorough and able to meet deadlines.

Author review: Andrea is a hard worker who does more than just translate your work, he offers advice in cases where a word or sentence may mean something else when the language gets converted. In that sense, he is enthusiastic and passionate about his craft. It is clear that he doesn't just put his pen on paper to do the job for the sake of doing it. More than that, he reflects on every word and sentence to decide what would be best to interpolate, and with good reason too. Andrea is also someone who works closely with you in order to grasp your message. In my case, he went the extra mile to avoid a situation where the words will become "lost in translation" by elaborating further in some cases why the text was written in such a way.
