Dance with danger...fall in love

Amanda brice

As a little girl, Amanda Brice dreamed of being either a ballerina or the author of a mystery series featuring a cool crime-solving chick named Nancy Flew, but her father urged her to "do something practical," so she went to law school and spent her days writing briefs and pleadings instead of fiction.

But dance and writing have remained a part of her life. Amanda was a member of the ballroom dance team at Duke University, and continues this interest by her obsession with Dancing with the Stars, so it was only natural for her to set a teen mystery series at a dance school.

Amanda is the former president of Washington Romance Writers, and is a two-time finalist for Romance Writers of America's prestigious Golden Heart® Award. She is also a popular conference presenter, speaking on basic copyright and trademark law for writers.

Amanda's debut novel, Codename: Dancer, was nominated for the Cybil Award (Children's and Young Adult Bloggers Literary Awards) for Best Young Adult Fiction in 2011. The audiobook version was also a finalist for the eFestival of Words Best of Independent eBook Awards in 2013.

Amanda is currently the author of three books in the popular "Dani Spevak Mystery Series" -- Codename: Dancer, Pointe of No Return, and Pas De Death. The fourth book in the series, The Degas Code, is expected for publication in Summer 2014.

She is also the author of the "Time After Time" YA time travel series, which includes 1816 Candles and the upcoming Party Like It's 1899.

Amanda is currently co-authoring a YA mystery with New York Times bestselling author Gemma Halliday. Wicked Games, the third book in Gemma's popular Hartley Featherstone series, will be released in early 2014.
