Hello, I'm Alexandre Díaz, I'm 29 years old, and I live in Brazil. I primarily work with English-Portuguese translations (and vice versa), but I can also handle Spanish and French, though at a slower pace.

I'm a Brazilian translator and occasionally an author of short poems or texts, often for fun or related to politics. I started learning English when I was about 8 years old, so it's been quite a long journey. My father is from Uruguay, which means I also have a good grasp of Spanish, and I've studied some French as well. Although I've never traveled abroad to learn English directly with native speakers, I frequently communicate with them through Discord, a text and voice app, and have been doing so for years.

The reason I'm eager to take on this opportunity is that I love reading new material and translating it to a natural, relatable level of understanding. I can typically achieve this with both English and Portuguese. I take my time to make necessary adjustments, and I believe the effort is always worth it. Many translators tend to produce literal translations that sound foreign in the target language, failing to resonate with native speakers. I focus on adapting expressions to suit the intended audience, ensuring the translation feels authentic. Sometimes, this means softening certain words that may not be as commonly used in the target language—something that often happens with Portuguese. Other times, the text demands a deeper, more nuanced approach, and both English and Portuguese can require this level of care. That's where I excel. While I can also work with Spanish and French due to their similarity to Portuguese, my focus with these languages would mainly be translating into Portuguese or English, rather than the other way around.

In short, that's who I am. I'm committed to creating beautiful translations that sound as if they were originally written in the target language. I may take a bit longer since I'm not accustomed to doing this as a full-time job, but I'm confident we can address any challenges and find solutions together. Thank you for this opportunity!
