The first book I've read was Alice in the Wonderland, from Lewis Carroll, when I was seven and, since then, I could never stop, I fell in love with literature and its beauty. I've always told myself I would, one day, work and live for literature, that has always been my main goal in life.
When I was 16 I had the chance to study in Montreal, Canada, for 7 months. There I learned the english and french languages and made a lot of contacts with friends, teachers and familys. Since my first contact, I fell in love with this country and, thus, nowadays I live and study in the city of Montreal, Quebec. Hence my knowledge of the english and french languages has grown every year and I look forward to improve them even more.
Because I've always been passionate about learning new languages, I also started studying the Italian Language when I was 18 and have been in love and in touch with the language ever since.
I read english, french and italian literature regularly, including authors as Charles Dickens, Victor Hugo, Italo Calvino, Gustave Flaubert, Jane Austen, Charles Baudelaire, John Cleland, Umberto Eco, Edgar Allan Poe, Scott Fitzgerald, and many others. I also have a ponctuation of 109 out of the total of 120 on the TOEFL exam.
I have a bachelor's degree in Education at the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), my average score on the course was 9.7 out of 10. Through this graduation I got in touch with the study of linguistics and discourse, which were my favorite subjects during my course. I received a scolarship for the composition of a research done as a partnership with a Philosophy professor, Phd Marcus Vinicius da Cunha, about the rethoric argumentation of the Sofists; in which I had to study many english speaking authors, such as John Dewey and Nathan Crick. I also worked on another research in Psychology, with the professor Phd Laura Vilela Souza, also based on the work of english speaking authors such as Michael White, David Epston and David Denborough.
Nowadays I'm studying at Concordia University, in Montreal, for my second degree. I'm doing a major in Linguistics and a double minor in Italian Language and French Literature.
Although I've said my goal is to work with literature, I have never had the chance to perform in the literature area professionally, but I did work translating some books, articles and thesis for university colleagues and I have good experience writing, considering my experience with researches, to which scientific writing is required.
Maybe the most important is that I have read literature my whole life, and I am willing to learn and improve in this area. I am a very hardworking person, opened to do whatever it takes in order to make great translations, always focusing on keeping the essential meanings and poetic of the text. I understand a discourse is not only symbols and phonemes, but a whole cultural way of being and thinking that demands research about the time, space and society the story takes place in order to make a translation that doesn't miss its esssential poetic and meaning; that is why literature and languages fascinate me so much and I am assuming the risk to try and give my best to this profession.
