Wonder kids

This book is about the life of two families. It starts with the graduation ceremony of Joseph (one of the characters in the story). It continues with how he gets his first employment. It is during his duties at work one day that he meets Juan for the first time. Juan is the twin sister of Mary (a woman he marries later on in the story.) It also talks of Juan and Bill’s relationship and their final marital rights. In between the two couples, it is Mary and her husband (Joseph) who delivers first. This event introduces us to Ben. Juan and her husband also deliver and that brings on-board Fred. Ben and Fred happen to be children with abnormal brain development. Their abnormalities make them extra intelligent. They progresses through the academic calendar fast and with ease. Fred, though academically superior to his colleagues is also gifted in football. At the end of the story, Bill ends up as a senator, Joseph becomes a bishop, and Fred becomes a football star even though he has a PHD. Ben on the other hand, propounds his first theory

Sample text:

Joseph long imagined this day, when his efforts over all these years would be ceremonially honored. This day would be memorable for Joseph and for many other students like him. Today, they would be formally recognized as university graduates, for successfully passing through the institution’s degree program.

For some people, such as the chancellor and the deans, among others, it might have been only a routine day, but definitely not for Joseph or his peers, who had been classified into groups based on educational performance over the past four years. Some will receive first class, which is the most enviable class to obtain while others will receive second class upper, second class lower, and so on in that descending order of prestige.
