Sample text:

The wraith ignored the interruptions. In a voice that exuded raw power, the angel responded, “The Tower of Afterlife is an amazing place. In it, you may be free. Free of the rules and laws that bind your hands. The guilt of morality will not weigh upon you, and the rules of the governed will no longer apply. But you are now free from more than just the trappings of civilization. Your bodies will no longer have limits imposed on them. The seal upon humanity has been removed. Your individual potential has become infinite. Should you ascend, you will become like gods, surpassing even we who are Legion.” The angel gazed at the businessman. “From that perspective, your wife will not, as you say, kill you.”

Looks of confusion washed over everyone in attendance, but the businessman continued to stand in front of the Wraith, doing nothing. Daniel knew what was coming. He recognized the faint look of irritation that briefly crossed the Wraith’s angelic face, though the benevolent smile never faded. “Ah, Mr. Johnson, is it? I understand that you are unfamiliar with the ways of this world, as are your peers. I sometimes forget that humanity has been far removed from both the magical and mystic. A brief demonstration should solve this issue and prevent further misunderstandings.”

The Wraith lifted his arm and pointed a finger at the man, then crooked it as if beckoning the man forward. In response, the man lifted off the ground and flailed through the air, screaming in terror as his body betrayed him. “The ability to move objects with your mind is just one of the powers you might develop.” It casually flung its hand to the side and the man hit the tarmac with a painful thud, followed by a horrible skidding sound. After a few seconds, a trail of gore was all that remained to mark his passing.
