To Live Again is a best selling adventure in bookstores in West Africa and Amazon. A movie adaptation is currently being developed y Rayany Ent.
Our route had now obviously been completely blotted out and here I reckoned less of our chances of survival. We’re like a voyage ship veered off course by a ruthless storm now left with no radar or compass. Ours is a sorry tale of an unpredictable adventure. One moment it seem like we’re going home to mama’s warm embrace and tears of joy, the next moment we feel helplessly immersed in the blackness of hopelessness.
Idris' phone has a touch light which we used to prepare a portion of the forest to lay for the night. We had two of the three cutlasses Mukhtar gave us but we’d lost the mat. Idris and Bassey started cutting off yellowish blades of these elephant grasses and spreading them over cleared ground. They stopped when they covered enough grounds they reckoned sizeable enough for four grownups.
Idris advised that we stayed away from trees as far as possible to avoid the stings of termites which cluster them. He seemed more acquainted to the forest lives than the rest of us. That could be owing to him having lived a bunch of his adult life in his village. At one occasion he crushed a tarantula that was crawling towards NK, then he gave a brief talk on how dangerous it was. He assured us we won’t have any snake problem at night since they don’t roam in the dark. He also made us know mosquitoes only breed around human settlements. I can't tell how true he was with all these forest life lectures and wisdom. I don't want to learn them. I don't want to get acquainted with life in the wild. I just want to go home to maami...to sit in her kitchen and listen to her stories of what have happened in our Abule while I was away. And eat that Ikorkore she promised to welcome me with from the service of my fatherland.
