Christian’s head swam. He swayed again, covering his eyes as though they were still on fire. He staggered down the sidewalk. Where had he been? What vile force had seized his mind? It was his final thought.
The impact of the bullet from the high-powered rifle sent his body hurtling through the large plate glass window of the Paradox, shattering into a million splinters from the sheer force of the collision. The young couple at the table near the front was heard screaming from inside as hot blood and brain matter splattered across their horrified faces.
