The Ranger Takes a Bride by Misty M. Beller

A quiet Texas ranch may be just the safe haven she craves...

The ranger takes a bride

After war robbed Alejandra Diaz of her father, her fiancé, and her home—she’s left with a fear of men in any kind of uniform. She escapes across the border with her almost-mother-in-law and finds work on a quiet Texas ranch. The place seems like the safe haven she’d been looking for. Until she meets the rancher’s tall, handsome brother who wears the soldier’s badge of a Texas Ranger…

Edward Stewart has spent years proving his abilities as a man, away from the overbearing protection of his family. As a Texas Ranger, he has the chance to help tame the Wild West and save the innocent. Innocents like the enchanting Mexican woman he rescued, who now lives and works on his sister's ranch. But the moment she sees his badge, she won't have anything to do with him.

Can Edward prove to Alejandra that he's different from the cruel soldiers she's known before? Will Alejandra hold onto the fear ingrained from her past, or can she open her heart to the kindness of this good lawman? When danger escalates in the form of a band of desperados with deadly intent, Alejandra must fight her hardest battle yet.

Sales info:

As of 3/22/2018, this book has sold 12,741 copies in the English language. It consistently ranks well in the Christian Historical Romance and Frontier and Pioneer categories on Amazon, including several times as a bestseller in those categories.

It is the second of a 3-book series, and I will be posting the other two books in the series for translation, as well.

I would appreciate a translation into any language, but would especially like a Spanish translation, as I think this would be popular due to the location and subject matter in the books (western book set on a ranch in Texas).

Sample text:

And then she saw him. Her eyes focused on a single cowboy, standing several paces away. He stood tall, with brown hair cut short and a leather vest over a clean blue shirt. But it was the look in his eyes that stopped her short. They sparkled, reflecting a genuine emotion. It almost looked like…kindness?

But she would be loco to trust him after what those other desperados did. Biting her lip against the spinning, she faced the man.

"Hello." His voice was rich and held a tone that seemed to match the compassion in his gaze.

The man took a step forward and spoke a short sentence in American. Try as she might, none of the words were familiar. Should she ask him to speak slower?

She thought back to some of the words Mama Sarita had taught her. Aha. Carefully shaping her mouth, she said, "No speak…American."

A light came over his face. As if she'd just told him food was meant to be eaten. He thought for a moment, then said, "¿Te duelen?"

Chapter Four

If he'd turned into a horse in front of her, Alejandra may not have been any more surprised. He spoke Spanish? His accent wasn't perfect, but it wasn't bad. He'd obviously heard the language spoken quite a bit.

"¿Sí?" He took another step forward, creases lining his forehead. The action jerked Alejandra from her shock. What had he asked? If she'd been hurt?

She took her own step…backward. "No. No estoy dolido." Even if she were hurt, she sure wouldn't tell this man. She raised her chin a notch, but the action pulled at the tender skin on her cheek where the renegades had struck her.

"Eso es bueno. ¿Puedo ayudar a que llegue a casa?" He wanted to help her get home? If only that were possible. Alejandra's heart squeezed at the thought.
