Alan could sense by the grave tone in the masked woman’s voice, she wasn’t parting ways with her disguise. Her reasoning seemed deeply rooted in maintaining anonymity more than respecting the house rules. But, Alan had become somewhat intimate very quickly with this woman and now he feared the worst with this masked woman.
“No! I told you that I can’t take this off and that’s final!” The masked woman burst from the king-sized canopy bed, brushing her way through the golden sheer cloth curtains that hung from the overhead posts. She hurriedly dressed into her light pink evening gown, and snatched her heels off the floor.
“Wait!” Reality washed over him once he realized that he blew it with this mysterious woman. “I’m sorry. Come back, I promise I won’t…”
The bedroom door slammed shut as Alan fumbled for his dress slacks and mask. He wasn’t afraid of revealing his identity to the young lady, but apparently she was not ready for that type of commitment. Alan never got her name, or any clue of where she lived, but he was sure that he’d catch her before she left Maxwell Hart’s Mansion.
Never bothering with the rest of his dress attire, Alan slipped the mask back over his face and sprinted out the bedroom door in pursuit of his newly found friend. He’d never felt so passionately for someone as he did right now and he hardly understood why he needed to know who she was. But, Alan felt that if he could only put out this one fire, he may preserve the only thing right about this evening—this blond beauty covered with the porcelain mask.
