1.5 cups Quick-cooking grits
1 tbsp. Onion powder
6 cups Chicken broth
1 tbsp. Garlic powder
1 tsp. Thyme, dried
Pepper
Salt
5 cup Parmesan cheese (grated. Can also use Romano or Asia go cheese) -.
4 oz. Cream cheese
2 lbs. Raw shrimp -
5 tsp. hot sauce -.
1 cup Sharp cheddar cheese (shredded) -
Scallions for serving
Directions:
Pour the chicken broth into your slow cooker, and then put in the grits. Stir.
Put in the onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, pepper, cheddar cheese, salt, Parmesan cheese, cream cheese, and hot sauce. Stir.
Put on the top and put on the setting "low" for 3 hours.
After 3 hours, take the lid off and put in the shrimp.
You can also add some cream or half and a half now if the grits have absorbed all of the liquid.
Put on the top and put on the setting "low" for another half hour or hour, just until the shrimp have finished cooking.
Serve with a sprinkling of extra cheese and some scallions.
