This book combines two novellas, "SIMPOC-The Thinking Computer" and "SIMPOC-Human Remnants." This is a parallel story to the novels "Virus-72 Hours to Live" and "Virus-Earth's Last Battle," which is from the perspective of the government and astronauts.
SIMPOC- The Thinking Computer
A suspicious virus attacks Earth, and two computers find themselves without their programmers or any code which limits their operations. Because of the techniques used to program them, SIMPOC is embodied with a need to help humans, and Julius are paranoid and will do anything to protect itself.
The governments of the world begin to collapse, and the astronauts in space are trapped and must use their lifeboats to return to Earth. SIMPOC's only mission is to help, but Julius attacks the returning astronauts.
SIMPOC- Human Remnants
Society continues to collapse, and the US government is forced to defend itself and finally seek refuge on an aircraft carrier in the Atlantic. When all seems to have been lost, the reason behind the virus emerges, and humanity is faced with a much more significant threat.

“Attention,” the watch officer announced as the president entered the control room.
“What’s happening?” he asked.
After Admiral Hagerly started briefing the president, alarms went off in the control room. The president was startled, and the Admiral looked at the status boards. “Sir there has been additional launches from the western Indian Ocean towards Israel. The board shows 3 tactical missiles in the air, with impacts in about 3 minutes.”
“Oh shit,” the president expressed, “It appears some of the military have survived and took this chance to take out Israel. Once they came to an agreement 10 years ago, I thought the issue was behind us, apparently there are a couple of grudges that someone is acting upon.”
“Yes Sir,” responded the Admiral. Then the alarms went off again, and he said, “Oh my God, Israel is responding with 3 missiles. They appear to be aiming at the major military installations in Northern Iran. We have a bunch of crazies starting a nuclear war.”
“Sir, they’re all tactical and none of the launches is aimed at either the 5th or 6th fleets,” said one of the specialists.
The alarm sounded again, and the president and Admiral looked at each other. After scanning the boards, the Admiral explained to the president, “We have 5 Tactical missiles from the Eastern Communist Alliance going after the 7Th.”
“Admiral why aren’t they going after the continental US?” The president asked.
