After the battle of the fishmen, the daughters of Moragah had a time of peace, a time to rest and heal. Eventually each returned to their lives as they had known them before that battle occurred. Still, Lady Shadow was disturbed, for she and she alone could feel the unease of their goddess.
Time passed, and that unease grew. The Watcher rarely came down from her tower, and then it was for a quick meal before she returned. One day Shadow followed her back to the sanctuary of the tower. “Lady Watcher, I can feel your distress, what is it that disturbs you so?”
“I can’t see it. I know it’s there, but I can’t see it.”
“Explain.”
“There’s something, something dark and evil growing, especially in certain nearby places. It’s close, but not in, North Bay, Georgia City, Lenora’s…I can’t be sure, but something is out there, and it looks like it’s gearing up to attack us, all at once. There’s even one building up out west, near where the Chosen have their headquarters.”
“And you have no idea what it is?”
“None. The whole damn thing is so cloudy, but it’s scaring me and…” just then her phone buzzed, and she glanced down. “It’s Justice.” She put the phone on speaker as she answered. “Watcher here.”
“Miranda, It’s Tasha. Girl, Allie is here and wants to know why there’s such a big military buildup just outside of town. You got anything on that?”
“Justice, this is Shadow. Miranda is in trance….”
“Oh fuck.”
“Miranda?”
