Sample text:

Emma Flowers hurried around her floral shop plucking different flowers from vases lining one wall. There were more than thirty black buckets filled with roses, dahlias, carnations, sunflowers, lotus, sprays and other floral varieties. She looked at her watch and saw that it was almost 2 p.m. This put an extra rush in her step. Her part-time help, a high school student named Annie Banks, had called in sick on what was turning out to be a very busy day.

The shop’s phone rang, and she considered not answering it before shifting all the flowers in her hand to one arm. Emma’s flower shop was the only one in Parkridge. In fact, it was the only one in a more than 50-mile radius. When the phone rang, she knew she would always find a way to answer it.

“Flowers Florist and Gifts,” she said much more perky than she actually felt. “How can I help you?”

“I think the question may be whether or not I can help you,” Tanya Rue said. “I just finished an appointment with Annie’s mom, and she said her daughter was sick. I know little sister’s play is tonight. Do you need help?”

“How is it that you always seem to know?” Emma said.

“That’s what best friends are for,” Tanya said. “Knowing everything.”
