“Sylvia,” Chaz hugged her close to his body. “You look…amazing.”
The older woman sheepishly grinned and playfully shoved Chaz. She looked at every inch of Chaz. It’d seemed like yesterday she had last seen him and he was merely 9-years old. Now, a decade later, Sylvia was impressed with how much he grew up.
“Oh, my!” Sylvia shook her head. “You’ve really grown up young man. Your mother must be proud of you. My God, how long has it been?”
Chaz blushed a bit and averted his gaze to the luggage belt as it whirred to life. Hopefully searching for his duffel bag would serve as a good enough distraction to break the older woman’s prying eyes. He felt slightly uncomfortable yet pleased that Sylvia would notice the significant change in him. His childhood crush was now admiring him and it seemed nice.
“About ten years, I think,” he ran his hand over the stubble growing on his face. “Sylvia, Mom said you were having troubles. You look like you’re holding up well. What’s this I hear about you having paralysis?”
