Around mid to late April of 2007, I was busily working on a project, which I’d been working on for most of the prior year, and, to be quite frank with you, although I was making progress, it felt as though I was continuously walking chest deep through mud with every single little thing taking me far longer than I thought it would.
My best estimate, at the time, was that I had a good solid six to twelve months or more to go before this project would be completed.

Then, one afternoon, while I was processing my email, I opened an email from Yanik Silver, a fairly well-known internet marketer, which, interestingly enough, I remember at the time thinking was a rather odd thing to do as I hadn’t opened an email from him in quite a long time, promoting an upcoming telephone interview he was doing with some guy named Timothy Ferriss, who’d just written a book called The 4-Hour Workweek.
I’ve long since forgotten exactly what that email said, all I remember was that it had little alarms going off in the pit of my gut, and I felt an overwhelming urge to run out and buy that book right then and there.
So, that’s exactly what I did.
I wrapped up what I was doing, hopped in the car, and hoofed it to the nearest Barnes & Noble.
Once there, I headed through the door like a man on a mission, went straight to the business section, and there to my surprise... guess what?
That’s right, they didn’t have it.
Not discouraged in the least, I found myself someone who worked there, told him what I was looking for, and asked if they might have it elsewhere in the store.
He checked the computer and told me it showed them having one copy of the book, and it should be right there where I was looking, but, he added, “just in case, let me check in back.”
